Date Night: Italian and Pasta Bests

Italian food is probably my favorite food ever 🍝. I may be biased because I am part Italian, but seriously, who doesn’t love a giant bowl of pasta? 😍

Carelli’s of Boulder – 645 30th Street, in Boulder, CO.

Closed on Sundays.

Carelli’s of Boulder offers an outstanding and authentic experience, in a classic Italian atmosphere that has some fantastic decor. Carelli’s features a beautiful 360-degree fireplace, and has an outdoor patio with a plush high-backed banquette. The menu that combines the best from both traditional and contemporary cuisines of northern and southern Italy.

For Starters (Antipasti), we really love the Caprese, Fried Mozzarella and Calamari. For Dinner (Pasta), I really love the Pasta Con Funghi, Angel Hair Con Clam, Shrimp Scampi and Angel Hair Alla Olio. Derrick loves the Chicken Parmigiana, Fettucine Alfredo, and Pesto Penne.

They also offer Daily Specials that are accompanied by your choice of soup or salad.

Parma Trattoria & Mozzarella Bar – 1132 Dillon Road in Louisville, CO.

Parma Trattoria & Mozzarella Bar has traditional Italian dishes such as pastas, pizzas, salads, meat, poultry and seafood abound in various styles. The cheeses are all lactose free; a couple are made in house and the others are imported directly from Rome and Naples. The Trattoria also has a seasonal outdoor patio, and a mozzarella bar with a front row seat to the large TV where live cameras show the chefs at work in the kitchen.

They offer a Happy Hour every day from 3:30 – 6pm and Monday all night! For Happy Hour, we really love the Calamari, Fries and Prosciutto DiParma (highly recommend getting something from the Mozzarella bar as well). For Dinner, my all-time favorite is the Pappardelle Porcini! I also love everything listed on the Crostacei (Seafood) list and the Penne Tricolore. Derrick likes the Penne Arrabbiata, Chicken Parmigiana and the Rigatoni Salciccia.

We went here for my birthday one year, and celebrated with Dessert. We loved the Delizia al Cioccolato or of course you can’t go wrong with Gelato.

Bacco Tratoria & Mozzarella Bar – 1200 Yarmouth Avenue, Unit A in Boulder, CO.

We love this place! Located in North Boulder (NoBo), they also have a fantastic patio that looks West towards the mountains.

When you get to Bacco Tratoria, make sure you order some of the best Appetizers and Mozzarella! Try the Burrata or Bufala Mozzarella and the Fior Di Latte, they are amazing together. Of course you can’t go wrong with the traditional Bacco Caprese. The Prosciutto Di Parma and Soppressata Toscano are great Salumi options, and we really love the Calamari.

From the Dinner Menu I highly recommend the Pappardelle Boscaiola, Pollo Saltimbocca, and any one of the Frutti di Mare dishes. I love seafood! Derrick loves the Penne Arrabbiata, Pollo Parmigiana and Penne Scarpariello.

They also offer a Happy Hour Menu from 4-6 p.m, 7 days a week & All Night on Mondays (Except Holidays). It is a great opportunity to try some of the most delicious appetizers and drinks.

You can also try one of the other Bacco Family restaurants. They are just as amazing, and have very similar menus! I listed them below.

Caprese Trattoria – 1067 S. Hover Road in Longmont, CO

Caprese Trattoria’s traditional Italian menu features their signature house-made mozzarellas, as well as a daily happy hour from 3 to 6 p.m. Caprese Trattoria also offers a full bar and two patios, providing diners a view of the new Village at the Peaks mall across Hover Road’s four lanes of traffic.

Sforno – 1308 Pearl Street in Boulder, CO.

Sforno features authentic, Roman Italian cuisine. Sforno means ‘from the oven’, which is perfect because this restaurant is built around an original wood burning pizza oven. Like Bacco, it offers their famous mozzarella made in house, and Happy Hour 7 days a week.
