Date Night: Variety Restaurants

Do you ever have those nights where you can’t decide what to eat for dinner?🤷🏽‍♀️ When we do, we like to go to places that offer a wide variety of food.🙌🏽

The Cheesecake Factory – 1401 Pearl Street in Boulder, CO.

This is right in the middle of all of the Pearl Street action, and is close to the Parking Garage.

The Cheesecake Factory is by far one of our absolute favorite places to go on date night! We actually go here fairly frequently, and for some reason we always find ourselves here during the busiest season…Prom. Oops? But we still wait because it is worth it!

My favorite thing to order is the Grilled Steak Medallions off of the SkinnyLicious Menu. Not because it is “heathier” but because it tastes so darn good! I like it better than the Traditional Menu’s Steak Dianne, which is Derrick’s favorite. We both also really love the Pasta Menu’s Pasta Da Vinci.

Of course you can’t go to the Cheesecake Factory and not order Cheesecake! We have tried so many different kinds of their cheesecake, and loved a ton of them. Cheesecake is one of our favorite desserts, but I narrowed it down to our top 5.

1- White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle, 2- Lemon Raspberry Cream Cheesecake, 3- Salted Caramel Cheesecake, 4- Caramel Pecan Turtle Cheesecake, 5- Dulce De Leche Caramel Cheesecake. You can’t really go wrong with any of their choices.

BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse – 1690 28th Street in Boulder, CO.

Conveniently located by lots of outdoor shopping!

BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse is a great place if you are looking for a variety! We go here a lot after church and they even have a rewards program where you can earn $ off from your purchases, among other perks. They also offer a lot of online coupons, which has pushed us to order all kinds of different items.

They have Happy Hour Mon – Fri from 3-7pm, and Sun – Thurs from 10pm – Close which is available in the Bar Only. They offer drinks like Domestic and Handcrafted Beers, Call Drinks and Dark Horse Wine and Guest Draft Beers. You can also get Chips and Dips, 1/2 off Mini Deep Dish Pizzas, $6 BJ’S Brewhouse Burger and other Select Appetizers.

The Starters that we love are the Ahi Poke, Crispy Calamari, Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Avocado Egg Rolls, Spinach and Artichoke Dip, Chicken Pot Stickers, and once again chips and salsa or guac.

My favorite Dinner items is the Enlightened Seared Ahi Salad (which I have shared a lot on my Insta stories), Barbeque Chicken Chopped Salad, Deep Dish Ziti and the Shrimp Scampi. Derrick’s favorites are the Brewhouse Bacon Cheeseburger, Bacon Cheeseburger (can you sense a theme?), and the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich or the Chicken Tender (Lunch Special).

If you go to BJ’s you have to try their signature Dessert, the Pizookie! They have a ton of flavors but we love the Salted Caramel Pizookie, White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Pizookie, Triple Chocolate Pizookie Made With Ghirardelli or the Peanut Butter Pizookie. If you can’t decide, the best way to order is the Pizookie Trio where you get your choice of three mini Pizookies.

Oskar Blues – 1555 S. Hover Road in Longmont, CO.

Sunday Brunch 10am-2pm.

If you don’t mind a searching for a parking spot during busy hours, we love Oskar Blues.

They offer a Happy Hour (Mon-Fri from 3-6pm, and Fri-Sat* 10pm-12am *Food Only). If you are looking for drinks, their Monday-Friday Happy Hour has Beer, Well Liquor and Wine specials. If you want food (available during all happy hours), try their Colorado’s Best Wings. I like the Dale’s Pale Ale Original, Mama’s Little Yella Pils Honey Sriracha and the Old Chub 3 Chili Chipotle. I also can’t pass up the Deep Southern Fried Pickles or Parmesan Truffle Fries. As a seafood lover, I really enjoy the Peel & Eat Shrimp, but it can get a little messy. Or of course the classics, chips and chili salsa or guac. They also offer Oysters, but we aren’t big fans of oysters. If you are, they may be worth a try!

When it comes to dinner, my favorites are the Beer Can Chicken, and the sandwiches “There’s a Hippie in my House” with grilled chicken or the Crab Cake Club. Derrick likes the smoked Brisket or BBQ Pork.

They also have a schedule at the bottom of their website where you can check out Live Music. The schedule updates monthly.
