Get To Know Me
Everything that I am wearing can be found here!
Since I am new to blogging, I thought it would be fun to do this Get to Know Me Tag. Here are 25 questions about me, which I hope give you a better picture of who I am!
1. What is your full name?
Courtney Ann Torres 👩🏽
2. What is your zodiac sign?
Leo. 🦁 My birthday is coming up soon – July 31st
3. What are three fears of yours?
Spiders, needles and tight spaces
4. What are three things you love?
The Lord, my family, and food 😆
5. What is your eye color?
Hazel, they change colors from green to amber to sometimes even blue-ish.
6. What is the last song you listened to?
Probably something country. 🎼
7. What are three turn-ons?
Sense of humor, thoughtfulness and honesty
8. What are three turn-offs?
Self-centeredness, laziness and chewing with mouth open/talking with mouth full 🙊
9. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Definitely. Which is difficult in internet settings because you don’t want it to be interpreted incorrectly. 🤷🏽♀️
10. How many tattoos/piercings do you have?
I don’t have any tattoos (refer to number 3), but I do have my ears pierced and at one point I pierced my own nose. That didn’t last long. 😳
11. What is the reason you started blogging?
I just really liked fashion and lifestyle (home, beauty, food) stuff. I had a lot of friends always asking where I got things or how I did stuff, so I figured I would share with anyone who wants to know!
12. What did you want to be when you grew up?
I used to want to be a veterinarian when I was younger. I have always had a deep love for animals. Then, I realized that being a vet didn’t mean just getting to play and take care of animals all day. There were actually a lot of really sad and hard days involved. And, I’m sure like most young girls, I also wanted to be a princess. 👸🏽
13. How tall are you?
5’3”…I used to be 5’4” a few years ago. How am I already shrinking?!
14. Are you a morning or night person?
I don’t know if I will ever be a real morning person. I enjoy the night and getting to see the sunset and stars. I find that I can’t stay up as late anymore though, the perks of getting older. 👵🏼
15. Do you consider yourself a good cook?
Yes, I would say so. I love to cook! 👩🏽🍳 I typically try to make healthier recipes but I still incorporate pasta, cheese and all the things I love. I don’t just eat salads and drink kale smoothies (actually I never drink those). Life is about balance, and you shouldn’t deprive yourself! If anyone would like me to post some of the recipes I make, let me know!
16. Are you more of a tidy person or a messy one?
Tidy! I hate clutter and I like to have everything in its place. I even go to the extreme sometimes and color code my closet or have separate containers for things in our pantry.
17. Are you an extrovert or introvert?
I feel like this has changed for me over the years! When I was younger and all through college I would have considered myself an extrovert. Now however, I would definitely say I am more of an introvert. I really enjoy just being home with Derrick and our dog, or taking some time too myself to relax and gather my thoughts. I still enjoy going out and doing things with friends, but even then I typically prefer smaller settings.
18. Who is someone you miss?
My Dad. He passed in 2008, and not a day goes by that I don’t miss him. I was a total daddy’s girl and we were very close. He taught me to drive, we would have popcorn and movie nights, and always took me to the water park, or zoo, or somewhere fun. He was loved dearly by everyone, and I look forward to the day I get to see him again. 💜
19. What is your relationship like with your parents?
I have always had a very close relationship with my parents. My Mom and Dad split when I was about 3, but did an amazing job at co-parenting. My mom started dating my now Step-Dad (I call him Dad) right before I turned 4. Over time, my Dad and Step-Dad became good friends, and they would take me skiing with just the two of them. Now that my Dad is in heaven, I still have an extremely close relationship with them. Derrick and I see my parents basically every weekend when we meet to go to church. ✝️ We spend a lot of time with them, and I wouldn’t change any second of it. You realize life is short, so spend it with the ones you love and make sure they know how much you love them. 🙌🏽
20. Do you have siblings?
I have one half-sister. 👯♀️ We have gone back and forth on being close over the years, but I am so thankful to have her in my life. We really re-connected after our Dad passed. She also has a daughter who just turned 11! I love getting to spend time with them.
21. Do you/have you played any sports?
I played multiple sports growing up. I started soccer and dance at about 3 or 4. I also played softball and volleyball for a few seasons in middle school and ran track. 🏃🏽♀️ I was actually really good at track, but I HATED running (I still do). I also did gymnastics/cheer most of my life until high school. During high school, I played soccer year-round and won multiple awards but eventually felt burnt out (after 14 years of playing). In college I played intramural co-ed flag football. 🏈 In 2015 a few friends asked if I wanted to join a co-ed indoor soccer league, which I did until 2018. I’d still play a game here and there if I had time (and energy 😆).
22. Were you ever a scout or a brownie?
Yes! I was a brownie in elementary school, which is where I met one of my forever best friends Dani!
23. What is one food that you refuse to eat?
Blue cheese or pork chops/loin. I can’t stand either. 🤢
24. Do you have any pets?
Yes! We have one dog named Jax. 🐶 He is our baby and of course I think he is the cutest dog in the world (isn’t that how all parents feel?). We aren’t really sure what breed he is, but they suspect a lab/shepherd mix with maybe some other mix. He is about 46lbs and loves to go on adventures.
25. Do you have any children?
Jax is the closest we have to a kid right now. But one day, I would love to have kids! 💕
You are so beautiful on the inside and outside. Love you so much.
